ROUTE 66 PASSPORT STAMP PLACE Kingman is the Heart of Historic Route 66 and the Turquoise Capital of the World. The Kingman Visitor Center is located inside Kingman’s Historic Powerhouse, which provided electricity to Northwest Arizona towns and mines from 1909 until 1938 when the Hoover Dam began producing Hydro-Electric power. The Powerhouse is also home to two gift shops, the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona, Arizona Route 66 Museum, and the world’s only Electric Vehicle Museum.
