Highway Historic Route 66

This road is not recommended after rains. Jericho was established in 1902 as a station and siding for the Chicago, Rock Island & Gulf Railway. At its peak during the early 1930s the town had three stores, a grain elevator, tourist court, garage and filling station. Realignment of the highway and decline in agriculture led to abandonment and by 1955 the town no longer warranted a post office.
