Isle a la Cache Museum

The 101-acre Isle a la Cache is a preserve that is part of the Des Plaines River preservation system, which conserves more than 2,400 acres. Historically it is claimed that French voyageurs in the 1700s cached the supplies and goods they traded with Native Americans at this site. Isle a la Cache Museum immerses visitors in our cultural heritage and natural history. The museum transports visitors back to the 18th century, when "Illinois Country" was home to the fur trade.
