Cindy Lyn Motel
Cicero, Illinois
When the Cindy Lyn Motel opened it was marketed as the last motel before the city. It opened with just 18 rooms that rented for $6.18 per night. As a innovative marketing initiative, if a cab dropped off a customer the driver would receive a free Cindy Lyn Motel “Zippo” lighter. The Cindy Lyn Motel is unique in that it has been owned and operated by the same family since opening in 1960. To meet the changing needs of the traveler in the early 1990s three hot tub suites were added. Other additions include a third floor which features the Presidential Suite. In 1999 an east wing was completed with an additional 23 rooms including a fireplace suite, that offers a gas lit fire next to a Kohler hot tub.
